A Musical Journey through Sounds and Images

einwandeins is the artistic pseudonym of Berlin-based musician and photoartist Patrick Becker. As a former DJ and event organizer, he explores the uncertainties of everyday life and the relationship between humans and nature in his music and photography.

The Music of einwandeins

His debut album, “revolt of silent reverie,” blends elements of drone ambient and slowhouse. By incorporating field recordings from the French Provence and a passion for dramatic scenes, einwandeins creates a unique sonic landscape that is both soothing and captivating. His music invites listeners on an emotional journey characterized by melancholy and uplifting moods.

The Inspiration behind the Music

einwandeins aims to evoke emotions and establish a connection with his audience. His sonic excursions combine melancholy, optimism, and cinematic drama, allowing listeners to escape the overstimulation of everyday life.

The Visual World of einwandeins

In addition to his music, Patrick Becker produced two music videos that connect to his photography. In his images, he explores the reclaiming of nature and the decay of human remnants in the landscape, providing a fascinating audiovisual experience.

The Artist ///

Patrick Becker is a freelance photographer and musician who lives and works in Berlin. His photographs – fictitious-looking snapshots – transport us into a world of light-loving darkness and surreal atmosphere. But the Brandenburg forests, which were abandoned by man a long time ago, also harbour signs of confidence and new beginnings.

They show the morbid beauty of decay, touching the viewer emotionally and existentially; they speak a silent and haunting language and at the same time create a calming and peaceful atmosphere. Fascinated by the interaction between man-made structures and the expanding wilderness, his photographs emphasise the interaction between humans and nature; they address the progressive reconquest by vegetation in a special way that reduces to the essentials.

For him, photography is a state of mind, an escape from the constant sensory overload of our information age, in which people have forgotten how to perceive the immeasurable and unique wealth of detail in nature.

His thirst for adventure takes him to forgotten and remarkable places that he has discovered in the course of his research. Especially in the summer months, he roams the forests of Brandenburg with his camera and tent, always in search of new places that were abandoned long ago.

In his first exhibition, he addresses socio-critical themes such as alienation from nature and the increasing black-and-white mindset, as well as the subtle perception of dystopia that emanates from these unreal places. It is precisely here that transience is tangible and history is present.

“With Revolt of Silent Reverie, einwandeins has created a deeply personal and almost industrial ambient recording; one that undulates with sonic stirrings amidst a fabric of immersive foggy textures.”
